KHS is the lead agency for animal welfare in Kootenai County. We provide care, shelter and adoptions for approximately 1800 animals per year. KHS takes in surrendered animals from owners that can no longer take care of their animals for many different reasons. We work very hard to take in all animals however at times we may have a waiting list.
All dogs & cats come with the following from Kootenai Humane Society:
- Spayed/Neutered
- Vaccinated
- Rabies Vaccination
- Micro-chipped
- Behavior Tested (dogs)
- 30 Days Free Pet Insurance
- Free First Time Check-up from local vet
- Free Meet & Greet with pet from your home
- Free Counseling after adoption for any questions
