No, the Kootenai Humane Society accepts pets that are surrendered by their owners and relies on donations and fees from adoptions and fundraising events to operate. The KCACR is a county organization that is supported by tax dollars. They are responsible for picking up stray pets and ensuring pets are licensed. We have only one adoption center located at 11650 N Ramsey Rd in Hayden next to the CDA Airport. Our two Thrift stores, where donations can be made, are located in Post Falls (11600 E Seltice Way) and Coeur d'Alene (916 3rd St).
