KHS is the lead agency for animal welfare in Kootenai County. We provide care, shelter and adoptions for approximately 1800 animals per year. KHS takes in surrendered animals from owners that can no longer take care of their animals for many different reasons. We work very hard to take in all animals however at times we may have a waiting list.
If you can no longer care for your animal and would like to relinquish it to the Kootenai Humane Society, please fill out the form below and call us to set up an appointment. You will need to bring this form with you when you relinquish your animal to KHS. Click here for a printable version. The following fees apply:
