Adoption Center |
Behavior Testing
|
Assist with behavior testing of adoptable dogs in order to more accurately profile dogs for prospective adopters. |
Must be 18 or older. Must be able to work with behavior specialist & help while testing. |

Adoption Collection of Donations |
Gather locations that pick up’s for donations/ licenses are needed. Pick up items needed and return them to the adoption center. |
A vehicle is required for this position. Lifting may be required also. |

Dog Socializer / Walker |
Provide the dog/s companionship, exercise and training. Walk & socialize with the dogs. Help reduce the dog’s stress level at the center. |
Must be 18 or older & have taken the volunteer orientation class & dog walking class. |
|
|
Cat Socializer / Cuddler |
Spend quality time with the cats & kittens playing, brushing and observing them. Relay information about the cats & kittens to the staff. |
Must be accompanied by an adult if under 16 years of age. |
|
|
Suite Cleaner |
Clean the cat and dog suites (cages and kennels) early in the morning before the opening of the adoption center. |
Be able to follow exact instructions for animal care & cleaning procedures. |

Thrift Stores |
Cashier / Greeter |
Greet customers and assist them in the location of items. Help customers when they want to purchase an item. |
Customer service skills are important for this position. |

Thrift Store Receiving & Sorting |
Take items from the receiving area of the store/s and sort through them while inspecting them for quality. Price them appropriately. |
Staff will help direct pricing of items. |

Thrift Store Pick up’s & Drop Off’s |
Pick up donated items and deliver them to the thrift stores. Transfer items to and from storage/ dump/ or recycling. |
Heavy lifting may be required. |

Home / Offsite / Misc |
Foster Care Parent (Dog/ Puppies) |
Provide a temporary home for animals that are too young to be adopted or need some special care until they are well enough to be adopted. |
Requires a Foster Care Application, Interview, and Home Inspection. |

Foster Care Parent (Cats/ Kittens) |
Provide a temporary home for animals that are too young to be adopted or need some special care until they are well enough to be adopted. |
Requires a Foster Care Application, Interview, and Home Inspection. |

Outreach Events Volunteer |
Transport animals to Outreach events. At the event you will set up & maintain the booth along with taking care of your animal. |
Must have taken the volunteer orientation class. Be 18 or older if handling a dog. |

Outreach Education Teacher |
Assist with presentations through speaking engagements at schools & other venues to provide information about KHS. |
Communication skills are recommended & able to work with the Vol. Coordinator. |

|
Poster / Flyer Distribution Specialist |
Collect posters/ flyers when needed & distribute them through the community while keeping a list of the locations visited. |
Communication skills are highly recommended. Your own transportation. |

Mailing & Newsletter Folder / Stuffer |
Volunteers are needed on specific days to fold newsletters, stamp items, glue envelopes, and etc. |

Photographer |
Take photos of animals at the Adoption Center. Take photos at events when needed. |
Ability to work a camera and follow directions. Possibly your own camera equipment. |
