Eric Petersen has several passions in his life. Among them are his wife, Leslie, giving his family a high quality of life, the great outdoors, sports and animals.  He sets his goals and then makes decisions and his actions directed to achieve them.

That's why he became a member of the US Team Slalom Kayak team in 1984. That's why he married Leslie at Coeur d'Alene's Hitching Post Wedding Chapel, while on vacation in 2003. That's why he left Washington, D.C. for Coeur d'Alene, ID in 2005.And that's why he and Leslie have found themselves rescuing dogs, not only the four that have graced their home, but the strays who wandered into their lives and then were adopted by family friends (with the Petersen's persuasion).

Now, he wants to combine two of his passions; endurance sports and animal rescue.

In 2009, he plans to raise money “by the event” or “by the mile”, and 100% of all pledges will go directly to Kootenai Humane Society. Watch for fliers, emails and notices in the paper and this web site on how you can help in Eric’s efforts to help the homeless, abused, and sick animals.

Please help Eric and KHS.
